Hi everybody! Happy New Year!
I realized something recently. And it may not come as a huge surprise to you, but I have to admit I wasn’t expecting it. I realized that I love blogging. Yes, it’s hard work, it can be nerve-wracking, and sometimes sharing my fashion decisions online for the world to see makes me feel vulnerable. But it is also incredibly liberating. I love having something other than my job that I can work on and invest my time and energy into. I love that I feel motivated to be more creative with my outfits, and that I’ve somehow managed to shed a lot of the insecurities I used to feel about whether I was too dressed up or too casual. These days I wear what I like and I bug my (ever so kind and obliging) friends and families to snap pictures of me all the time. And it’s so fun!
So far on Tailored and True, I’ve shared a lot about my personal style, but I feel like I’ve held back from sharing other aspects of my life. I don’t write a whole lot, I don’t share a lot of my personality with you or discuss my other hobbies, and I’ve decided that this selfish lack of sharing is cramping my style. Tying me down. What’s a blog for if not to experiment and live a little? And so, this is my New Year’s Resolution (and yes, I think it deserves to be bolded and capitalized) – to better express myself here and to share more with you, to find further freedom and personal style exploration via my blog, and to grow Tailored and true.
So, what do you think? Is it a good goal? As I write this I get so excited about the year to come. What more can I blog about, what other sources of inspiration will I find, and how much more fun can I have in the process? Here’s to a new year of blogging documenting my personal style, life, and whatever else I feel like blogging about :)

The outfit pictures above are from a casual Sunday shopping excursion this weekend with my talented and inspiring friend Chenglin. I also wanted to share my latest favorite inspirational quote, and the motto that I plan to use as I move forward with spreading the blogging love.
As always, I’m thrilled to see you here, and thank you so much for your support! Happy New Year!
